Quote to Remember...
Think enthusiastically about everything; but especially about your job. If you do, you'll put a touch of glory in your life. If you love your job with enthusiasm, you'll shake it to pieces. You'll love it into greatness.

Notice from Nikki Clark
We are holding the competition this year for elementary teachers. I would like to forward information about this years contest to all of the mentor teachers of LSU elementary ed students including student teachers. However, not being an elementary person I have very few contacts. Would you be open to sending an Email or letter to the students/teachers? The StateplaceLouisiana deadline for nominations is April 13th.
More information can be found at:
Thanks.

This is a first year teacher at Highland (Roslyn Charles Idewu) and her comments about her favorite teaching moment during her first year of teaching.
"My first year of teaching has been filled with great moments. My favorites are the ones that empower my students. One of my favorites happened during an afternoon math lesson. My students had worked very hard that morning during reading. As I struggled to explain a math concept to the class, I realized I was quickly losing student interest. I stopped and gazed at my slouching, tired faces and said with a sigh, 'Did anyone hear what I just said? Doesn't anyone care about learning today??' Soon after I posed the question, one little girl raised up a sheet of paper with the words 'I care' written on the front. I was immediately touched and re-energized. Moments like those erase the memory of the bad. I love empowering young minds!"
